Mel Brooks took his wacky 1968 big-screen comedy and turned it into a boffo Broadway musical that won a record 12 Tonys. This big-screen adaptation of the play is a tuneful laugh riot that soars on the talents of Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, who re-create their roles as shyster impresarios who back "the wrong play, the wrong director, the wrong cast" and come out with a surprise hit.
