After three long years, Baroness releases Purple, the debut album on their Abraxan Hymns label; it was produced by Dave Fridmann. This is the band's first studio offering with new rhythm section Nick Jost on bass and keyboards, and Sebastian Thomson on drums. (After a tour bus accident in 2012, Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni decided not to return.) These ten tracks run the gamut from lighter, brighter hard rock fare to enormous, sprawling, gnarly jams; they amount to a testament about the trauma from the crash, healing, and carrying on.

Tracks:

- Morningstar
- Shock Me
- Try to Disappear
- Kerosene
- Fugue
- Chlorine & Wine
- Iron Bell
- Desperation Burns
- If I Have to Wake Up (Would You Stop the Rain?)
- Crossroads of Infinity
