Real Is Back, Vol. 2

Released before but recorded after his official album TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition, The Real Is Back, Vol. 2 finds Jeezy coming off the high of finishing an above-average official drop and returning to raw street tracks with DJ Drama and the usual "Gangsta Grills!" shoutouts. Track to pick here is the great "Gotta See This," a surprisingly hooky cut with the punchy Freddie Gibbs and the slow-growling Jeezy blending incredibly well. The P. Diddy reference during the intro is a good laugh, and "Trump" is the brutish kind of grinder fans crave from Jeezy mixtapes, but these highlights are pushed to the front, making this one lopsided, even by mixtape standards. ~ David Jeffries
