Rykodisc's Reel Love: Great Romantic Movie Themes does not contain love songs -- it contains 14 romantic instrumental themes from a variety of films, from The Misfits to Last Tango in Paris. There may be a number of films featured, but only a handful of composers -- George Auric, Alex North, Andre Previn, Francis Lai, Riz Ortolani, Henry Mancini, Michel Legrand, Gato Barbieri -- which gives it some thematic consistency, since they also share a similar style: it's all romantic, with a slightly dark undercurrent.
