Reset

The title of Atari Teenage Riot's second album since re-forming in 2011 doesn't refer to the on-again/off-again band itself, but to society, as Alec Empire and company think it needs a swift reboot. Songs like "Death Machine," "Modern Liars," and "New Blood" are as angry and aggressive as expected, and yet these compressed blasts of revolution are opening up a bit, as Reset quickly becomes a more infectious and singalong-ready ATR LP than previous efforts. Check the title track for proof as it grows into a mutant, politically charged version of Katy Perry's "Fireworks" and then throws Molotov cocktails out of the speakers. ~ David Jeffries
