The New York-based jazz drummer Gregg Bendian's Mahavishnu Project was formed to interpret the works of the groundbreaking early-1970s jazz-fusion ensemble the Mahavishnu Orchestra. This two-disc live set features some adventurous and often exhilarating improvisations on the original band's VISIONS OF THE EMERALD BEYOND album, including the herky-jerky R&B of "Can't Stand Your Funk" and the ecstatic, two-part "Eternity's Breath."
