Rêves

This posthumous release by Grégory Lemarchal is comprised mostly of outtakes or rejected songs from his first two recordings. This doesn't mean they're bad songs; far from it. They all feature the same pop panache that made his debut set so enticing. The single "Je Rêve," which contains no less than six protagonists, is all the more poignant because their imagined futures all total what the singer never had: Lemarchal passed away due to complications from cystic fibrosis. Rather than simply an industry cash-in, this set was coordinated by the artist's parents; all profits are being donated to the Grégory Lemarchal Association dedicated to finding a cure for the disease. ~ Thom Jurek
