Richard Wagner - Siegfried (3 Dvd)

The Het Muziekththeater Amsterdam mounted this dark, highly-stylized, 4 1/2 hour production of Richard Wagner's 1876 opera +Siegfried (the third part of the Ring cycle) in 1999. As directed by Pierre Audi for the stage, it stars Heinz Kruse as the title character; the supporting cast features Anne Gjevang, Henk Smit, Graham Clark and Stefan Pangratz. The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra provides symphonic accompaniment.
