A little different than the similarly priced 2008 compilation Super Hits, S.O.U.L. offers a ten-track budget sampling of Tyrese's four albums for RCA and J Records: Tyrese (1998), 2000 Watts (2001), I Wanna Go There (2002), and Alter Ego (2006). During this era, the singer placed 11 songs on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart. Seven of them are here, including the number three hit "How You Gonna Act Like That," the number nine "Sweet Lady," and the Top 20 "Signs of Love Makin'."
