Universal's 2011 release Icon takes the U.K. compilation Show Us Your Hits -- retaining the name as a subtitle -- and trims two songs from the lineup but otherwise keeps things intact. When it comes right down to it, there is no other choice of title for a Bloodhound Gang compilation. Show Us Your Hits says it all, crystallizing the concept of the album and the band's aesthetic. The Bloodhound Gang embraced vulgarity as a matter of course, releasing singles with titles that cheerfully flaunted their bad taste: "A Lap Dance Is so Much Better When the Stripper Is Crying," "Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny," "The Ballad of Chasey Lain," all of which are on Show Us Your Hits, along with another nine singles and album tracks from their four albums. Not all of these songs are as insistently infectious as "The Bad Touch," the 2000 dance novelty that crawled into the Top 40 and remains their one minor masterpiece, but anybody who needs more than one Bloodhound Gang single but less than full albums will find their needs satiated by this fat-free compilation. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
