Norma Talmadge and Harrison Ford star in double roles in this drama about love and hate. When John Carteret (Wyndham Standing) gets married, his bride is killed on their wedding night by a rival suitor. The tragedy leaves John bitter and mistrustful of emotional commitment. He is livid when his adopted niece falls in love with the son of the man who killed his wife. Nearing the end of his life, John must resolve his feelings of hatred for the sake of his family before he dies. He slowly accepts the fact that a man should not be held responsible for the crimes of his father.
