So Fresh: Dance 2014

Yep, it's so fresh, as long as listeners adhere to that 2014 date on the cover, but if this Universal Music set of pop-leaning EDM and EDM-leaning pop isn't consumed in that particular year, it will still make a nice time capsule of what made us shake in a year that Godzilla, Spiderman, and Superman all got reboots. The names are huge too, with Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and John Legend representing the pop side while Tiësto, Avicii, and Calvin Harris rep EDM. Add DJ Snake and Lil Jon's massive "Turn Down for What" and the electro sound of trap is here, plus some slight mixing and subtle seguing of the songs makes this a suitable and constant soundtrack for 2014 parties or, decades later, class of 2014 reunion parties. ~ David Jeffries
