Teen Beach 2 [Original TV Movie Soundtrack]

The music from Teen Beach 2, the sequel to the Disney Channel's popular '60s-meets-2010s movie-within-a-movie, reflects the project's surprisingly meta ambitions and continues the original movie's flair for clever pop. This time, Lela (Grace Phipps) and Tanner (Garrett Clayton) from the '60s beach movie Wet Side Story visit their 21st century friends Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack (Maia Mitchell), and their time travel results in entertaining collisions of pop from both of their eras. Lynch delivers one of the soundtrack's standouts with the upbeat but bittersweet "On My Own," while Phipps and Clayton bring some '60s pep to "Twist Your Frown Upside Down." Other highlights include "Gotta Be Me," a reworking of Teen Beach Movie's "Fallin' for Ya" and Sabrina Carpenter's "Rescue Me."
