Producers: Giorgio Moroder, Harold Faltermeyer.
TERMINAL JIVE was hurriedly released in late 1979 to capitalize on the unexpected success of Sparks' pioneering rock-disco album NUMBER ONE IN HEAVEN. The brief record is somewhat padded with such expendables as an instrumental version of the opening track, "When I'm With You." Like its predecessor, TERMINAL JIVE was produced by Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltermeyer. Sparks were the first rock band to use these Eurodisco producers, predating Moroder's production of Blondie's "Call Me" by over a year
In many ways, TERMINAL JIVE refines and improves upon the formula of NUMBER ONE IN HEAVEN, tightening the songs and varying the pulsing tempos. Highlights include the self-explanatory "Rock And Roll People In A Disco World," "Noisy Boys," and "The Greatest Show On Earth." Until this Oglio CD was issued in 1998, TERMINAL JIVE was the only Sparks album never released in the US.
