This 1983 live recording from Bologna, Italy, consists of four long, contemplative, straight-ahead tracks. The overall feel here is less courageous than a lot of Woody Shaw's recording, but the playing is solid and easy on the ears.
Two of the tunes, "From Moment to Moment" and the title track, are Shaw compositions. TIME IS RIGHT is basically a vehicle for Shaw; the rhythm section takes a back seat to his fine subtle playing. On the final track, "We'll Be Together Again," his trumpet tone is so warm it sounds more like a flugelhorn.
