Trollenberg Terror

Written by Peter Kay, the six-part British science fiction melodrama The Trollenberg Terror aired from December 15, 1956 to January 19, 1957 as part of ATV's Saturday Serial anthology. The setting was a small village in the Austrian Alps, which was terrorized by voracious aliens. The authorities were baffled by a string of horrific mutilation murders until episode four, in which the culprits were revealed to be an extraterrestrial race known as the Ixodes. Through the combined efforts of a reporter and a scientist, the slimy otherworldly villains were ultimately brought to heel. A theatrical-feature film version of The Trollenberg Terror, produced in England in 1958, was released in America as The Crawling Eye.
