Following 2010's back-to-basics release July Flame, Laura Veirs switches gears again, offering her first-ever children's record, Tumble Bee. Produced by Grammy-nominated Tucker Martine (R.E.M., Tift Merritt, Kelly Joe Phelps) and inspired by the birth of their son together, Veirs delves into the American songbook as source material, touching on early 20th century songs as well as ballads popularized by classic artists like Jimmie Rodgers and Woodie Guthrie with the help of guest performers such as Colin Meloy (the Decemberists), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), and Béla Fleck.
