Under My Eyes

A self-cultivated talent in a famous musical family, Julio Iglesias, Jr. does something all his own on his much-anticipated singing debut, UNDER THE EYES. It could be easy to get lost in the shadow of a performer such as his father, but Julio Jr. is a crooner to reckon with. Take the soul of the '70s and '80s, some poignant keyboard work, rock guitars, and light club beats, and the result is a shiny, sunny production that readily supports Julio's sensual, throaty warbling. He's clearly ready to hand out the roses from the first track, when he gets out some sha-la-la's on "Welcome to My World." It's an upbeat air that's all about positivity and nice things. The slow-rolling title track has the tingle of a human touch, as Julio sings of looking for a love and life that's in fact been with him all along.
