Jon Avnet's glossy love story Up Close and Personal comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials are limited to the theatrical trailer. This is a decent release from Disney/Buena Vista, but it will do nothing to hook people who ignored the film during its initial theatrical run.
