Victorian Poets

This tape contains an in-depth look at the lives of many of the most talented Victorian era poets. Experts read and critique the work of such poets as Alfred, Lord Tennyson; Elizabeth Barrett Browning; Gerald Manley Hopkins and Robert Browning. The latter gentleman secretly married Elizabeth Barrett and the two went off to live in Florence, Italy. Elizabeth is the author of such works as "Sonnets of the Portuguese," while her husband is remembered for "The Ring and the Book" and other writings.
