WALKING OFF THE BUZZ contains a hidden bonus track.
Blessid Union Of Souls: Eliot Sloan (vocals, piano); Tony Clark (guitar, bass); Jeff Pence (guitar); C.P. Roth (harmonica, keyboards, bass); Eddie Hedges (drums, percussion).
Recorded at Legend Entertainment, Cincinnati, Ohio.
The cynical may dismiss Blessid Union of Souls as a second-rate version of Hootie and the Blowfish, but students of rock & roll know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and the rock & roll hall of fame is crowded with clever thieves. Besides, when you listen more closely, there's really no corollary to Darius Rucker's deep, dramatic vocal style here. Though Blessid Union ventures into a similar upbeat roots-rock style typified by jangling guitars and a punchy, forceful rhythm section, WALKING OFF THE BUZZ has plenty of individuality. One of the most telling items in the band's arsenal is a knack for blending high-production pop-rock with the soul influences that are frequently apparent in the guitar lines and emotive vocals.
