War of 33: Letters from Beruit

Hanaday Salman was a mother living in Beruit when war broke out in 2006, and in this film viewers get an intense and deeply personal look at that violent conflict as a series of letters written by Salman detail the stories of everyday Lebanese whose lives were irrevocably changed by a struggle that was too large to ignore. As the refuges and wounded struggle to maintain their hope for the future, the universal stories of love, death, resistance, and survival highlight how humanity can sometimes shine through even in the darkest of times.
