To survive in his rough neighborhood of Washington, D.C., teenager Lucas joins the powerful, fast-growing MS-13 gang. But when the leader begins using his 10-year-old brother Miguel to sell drugs, Lucas attempts to break ties with the gang, but they won't let him leave alive. The boys find an unexpected ally in their new neighbor, a troubled Afghanistan war veteran who finds renewed purpose in protecting them.
