British blues-rock wailer Eric Burdon, best known for his work with the Animals and War, continued to lay it down throughout the 1970s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s. The 2006 compilation WILD & WICKED collects rare and live tracks from across the spectrum of his career, covering all of his stylistic bases, including rock, blues, psychedelia, and funk. The live tracks are taken from a performance at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 1976, and find Burdon backed by a powerhouse band and singing as though his life were on the line.
