Witches of the Orient

In the 1950s, the women's volleyball team Nichibo Kaizuka was formed with one goal in mind: to become Japan's number one team within two years. The team then went on to snatch consecutive wins and impressive titles, including a gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics, earning them their "Oriental Witches" nickname. This documentary tells the story of the team's legendary players through intimate interviews spliced with archival footage and animation.
