Worldly Madonna

Clara Kimball Young stars in a double role in this highly unbelievable but entertaining crime drama. Janet is a virtuous nun, and her sister Lucy is a drug-addled cabaret dancer. When Lucy wounds a man with a gunshot, she runs to the convent and pleads with Janet to switch places with her. Janet is arrested and charged with the shooting of the local politician, and the owner of the cabaret demands that Lucy return to work and take responsibility for the crime that put her innocent sister in jail. The victim recovers and decides to marry Lucy despite the fact she nearly killed him. William P. Carleton, Richard Tucker, and George Hackathorne also star in this feature where the viewer must suspend all rational logic to be entertained.
